History

Double Dragon Publishing (DDP) was founded as a single-imprint small press publisher in 2000 by Deron Douglas. The publishing house has since grown into a stable publisher with eight separate imprints, focusing on different genres, but generally within the science-fiction, fantasy, horror, and paranormal romance sub-genres.

While specializing in eBook publication, Double Dragon Publishing also releases paperback books, graphic novels and pocket books. It is still maintained by many industry experts that Double Dragon Publishing is the leading publisher of eBooks.

Electronic Publishing Focus

DDP publishes books in Rocket-eBook, Hiebook, Adobe PDF, MS-Reader, Mobipocket, iSilo, Franklin eBookMan, and Palm Doc formats. While some selected texts are issued in audiobook format, the majority of the publisher's offerings are electronic only. Their focus on electronic format sales led Piers Anthony to note in 2004 that "DD is one of the best, perhaps THE best, of the electronic publishers." [1]

Other Activities

Many of Double Dragon's titles have gone to the big screen as a direct result of the efforts of this medium size company. Such notable titles include A Study in Red, Legacy of the Ripper, and Requiem for the Ripper.

Notes of Special Interest

Double Dragon Publishing has been responsible for the establishment and popularity of many top name authors. But the most notable example remains multi-award winning author, Darrell Bain.
